亦作“ 夭桃穠李 ”。 1.《诗·周南·桃夭》：“桃之夭夭，灼灼其華。”又《召南·何彼禯矣》：“何彼襛矣，華如桃李。”两诗以桃李之花兴新人之美。后多以“夭桃襛李”为赞颂新人年少俊美之辞。 唐 张说 《安乐郡主花烛行》：“星昴殷冬獻吉日，夭桃襛李遥相匹。”《黑籍冤魂》第八回：“夭桃穠李，宜早合良緣，毋使婚嫁愆期，致令幼女懷春，吉士有《摽梅》之賦也。”2.茂盛艳丽的桃花、李花。 宋 梅尧臣 《资政王侍郎命赋梅花用芳字》诗：“夭桃穠李不可比，又况無此清淡香。” 宋 张孝祥 《清平乐·梅》词：“吹香嚼蕊，獨立東風里。玉凍雲嬌天似水，羞殺夭桃穠李。”
